Oh Sweet Sweet Desserts!

So, tonight was definitely a wonderfully fun night with the baby Jayson and Delisa. Oh, how I love spending time with these two! Earlier, I took my Roadrunner in for an oil change and tire rotation. While that was being done, I decided to walk down the street; highway if you'd like to get technical. Where I walked into an Acme! Oh how excited I got!

I love grocery shopping. Oh gracious, I can spend way too much at any one time. Like this one I decided to buy some peaches. And with that I decided I wanted to make a Peach Cobbler. Sadly, on the walk back to pick up my car, I realized that a cobbler wasn't exactly what I was looking to make. So, going through cook books later I realized I could make a torte! And so I did.

After I picked up Delisa and the baby I started on my 'fantabulous' adventure around my kitchen. Even though I stayed in one corner, I had much too fun. Buttering phyllo dough sheets, which is quite the difficult. Cutting up the peaches, oh the aromas! I had my mother pick up some alcohols for me, seeing as how I can't buy any for myself. Some peach schnapps and orange liqueur.

So, after chopping and buttering and finally layering the phyllo dough sheets into their respective muffin tins; which did end up being a tad small for what I was looking for making. Nonetheless, putting the peaches, some water, schnapps, and sugar into the pot I let them simmer/boil. After a bit I tossed in some blueberries, a little secret touch I wanted to surprise everyone with; definitely turned out to be a great option. Finally, after taking out the phyllo cups and letting them cool, I poured in a little cornstarch water concoction to help thicken up the liquid.

After it thickened, I took 2 of the cups, poured in some of the peaches, put a scoop of ice cream with them and spooned some of the liquid all over the plate. Oh, goodness, the finishing product was and is DELICIOUS! Oh gracious, it may not look the best, but I can assure you that it was perfectly sweetened and very peachy with a great hint of blue.

Why Good Morning!

How's everyone doing on this wonderful Tuesday!?

I can assure you that I'm doing quite well on those what 5 hours of sleep I somehow managed. Anywho, last night I had one of the CUTEST children spending time with me. And of course he was stubborn and wanted something to eat. However, he's the pickiest child in the world and either only eats some of a happy meal or Wawa's chicken noodle soup, I decided I'll try to make him some soup.

Therefor, I got together some of my beef stock I made months ago, just in case of such an emergency! I had it frozen so I could use it for years to come. ;) Anyway, using that as my base, I "mandolined" aka sliced up some carrots and celery; threw in some thyme, salt, and pepper; gave that little concoction some heat while I cooked up the pieces of beef; and let it simmer away! After the beef had been cooked up nicely, not completely, I threw 'em into the soup to help get the flavor of the stock. As well, I tossed some orzo into the pot. Sadly, it was the only type of noodle I had on hand for soup that made sense.

Pathetically my camera's battery is dead and I've no idea where the charger is, at the moment! So, hopefully either later today or tomorrow I can find it so I can take a picture of one of the heated up bowls of it, because it really is quite delicious! Even if some little children who I won't be naming are too picky to try it!

Spontaneity is the Best

I know it's not that great of a picture, but that's what happens when your camera battery is dead and you're unsure of where the charger is placed! Wonderful! Anyway, I awoke this wonderful noon and decided I was hungry; as always. There wasn't any good cereal, except my mother's Protein Plus Special K, which I'm not allowed to touch. So, I searched for some Oatmeal!

To my wonderfully delighted surprise we had instant oats, probably not the most preferred, but I dealt with them. Threw in some molasses, honey, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Can you say MMMMMM! Then toasted up some chopped almonds, not too many of course, popped the mixture of oatmeal into the microwave(minus the almonds); darn those instant oats! Voila! The oat meal was heated up and finished, delicious, mix it up, add the almonds, mix it up some more and top with some blueberries for an extra bite of sweet!

Here's a tip from Brandon, Spontaneity can win anyone's heart over! Trust me, when it comes to food or anything. Surprise them spontaneously and they'll be extremely happy!

Here's to a Great Start!

Cheers!

To a wonderful beginning to a foodie blog! I know I'm just starting off, and I know that at the moment no one is reading this! However, I'm sure that a few weeks from now when things are actually on here, and pictures, videos, and mouthwatering temptations that people would love to try will cause for more people to read!

As a preview, a picture of brownies that I made from scratch are what are in store for the viewers soon to join this blog! =D
